HIMMEL conveyor drum motors

HIMMEL® conveyor drum motors are used for driving fixed or portable conveyors which transport a wide range of bulk goods; they are also used in beltless transport facilities.

HIMMEL® conveyor drum motors have found an increasing number of applications in drive technology thanks to their space-saving design and their excellent adaptability to existing operating conditions. Many fields of conveyor technology have been using them with great success for decades now.

HIMMEL® conveyor drum motors are designed in such a way that the electric motor and the reduction gearbox are housed within the drum shell, forming an encapsulated drive unit which is largely protected against external influences.

The generous dimensioning of the individual parts ensures a long service life, even under rough operating conditions. State-of-the-art production methods ensure low-noise operation and a high efficiency. The clamping spigots on both sides are flattened, allowing easy and time-saving assembly using two-part clamping bearings.

In all conveyor drum motors, the supply of electric current from the terminal box to the built-in electric motor is ensured by the clamping spigot, which has the form of a hollow shaft; like normal electric motors, drum motors are connected to the mains via the fixed terminal board.

Alternatively, HIMMEL® conveyor drum motors can be equipped with a cable.

The absence of moving transmission elements subject to wear (slip rings, brushes) means that the electricity supply line is maintenance-free.

HIMMEL® conveyor drum motors are manufactured with protection classes up to IP69k in a fully encapsulated dust- and hose-proof design. This makes them suitable for use in the open air and in dusty or humid rooms.

Electromagnetic brakes, backstops and rotation speed monitors can be added. In terms of design, HIMMEL® conveyor drum motors ensure low-noise drive solutions which take up little room thanks to the small installation space.
